POSITION SPECIFICS
Title: Financial Analyst (Hybrid)
FTE: Full Time (40 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday-Friday; Flexible between 7:00am – 5:00pm
Holiday Rotation: None
Weekend Rotation: None
On Call Requirements: None
POSITION SUMMARY
Working closely with the Director of Financial Services, Senior Leadership Team and Department Directors, this position will be primarily responsible for providing detailed financial analysis, strategic insights, and educational guidance related to departmental and organizational performance.
POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop strong relationships with the Senior Leadership Team and respective Department Directors to support needs for financial, statistical, and operational data.
- Compile and distribute monthly departmental financial, statistical and productivity reports to the department Directors.
- Meet with each department Director and their respective Vice President monthly, or more frequently as needed, to review and analyze their departmental performance resulting in identifying opportunities for improvement and generating actionable, data driven, recommendations that enhance operational and financial efficiencies and performance.
- Communicate economic and financial trends and the resulting financial impact to the respective departments.
- Provide financial education to department directors, helping them improve their understanding of financial metrics, reporting methods, and budgeting processes to enhance financial acumen across the organization.
- Assist Directors in the development and management of their department’s annual and reforecast operating and capital budgets through the utilization of historical trend analysis and pro-forma financial information.
- Assist department Directors in preparation of SBAR documents to support operational requests.
- Perform detailed financial analysis relating to revenue streams and expenses of department and system operations.
- Compile data from multiple sources to analyze trends and business drivers.
- Apply advanced skills to improve operational and financial effectiveness of the organization and provide relevant information and recommendations to assist management in making sound business decisions.
- Develop and maintain KPIs and analytics to evaluate organizational and departmental performance and trends.
- Analyze departmental financial and operational performance and document variances from prior periods, budget and internal/external benchmarks. Working with the Director of Financial Services, make recommendations to leadership based on interpretation and judgment of financial data and other statistical information.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement AI-driven tools and technologies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting, forecasting, and data analysis. This includes identifying opportunities for automation in financial processes and optimizing resources Produce and analyze financial feasibility studies and strategic business development modeling to support the development of new services and improvement upon current services.
- Working with the Director of Financial Services, maintain the organization’s primary financial reporting tool and assist in the development of new models of reporting data to Senior Leaders and Department Directors to assist in the analysis of organization and department performance.
- Act as backup to Financial Accountants
- Responsible for any and all additional duties delegated by the CFO and/or Director of Financial Services
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Preferred: CPA or CPA eligible
Experience:
- Required: None
- Preferred: Three to five years of progressive experience in accounting or finance professional role, healthcare experience.
Licenses and Registrations:
- Required: None
- Preferred: None
Certification(s):
- Required: Membership (employer provided) in the Healthcare Financial Management Association will be required within 90 days of hire.
- Preferred: CPA desired
