POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Club House Manager on the outside of golf operations to ensure a smooth transition for members and guests. In this role, the course Cart Attendant is to provide exceptional customer service by ensuring golf carts are stocked, cleaned, and ready for golfers. The Cart Attendant must have excellent listening skills and eagerness to provide excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Follow procedures for proper opening and closing of the course.
- Meet, greet, and serve all members and guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner following all facility policies and procedures.
- Provide clear communication necessary to the golf shop by radio transmission.
- Responsible for cart cleanliness, cart supplies, cart condition, and, fueling.
- Assist golf shop personnel in the tournament set up of golf carts.
- Maintain equipment, including golf carts and pickers, and organize cart storage as needed.
- Operate all equipment according to safety guidelines and report any safety issues to the supervisor immediately.
- Responsible for the rotation of golf carts to ensure uniform usage amongst the fleet.
- See that all carts are accounted for, refueled, and ready for operation.
- Assist in the return of golf carts, storing, and staging.
- Refer all significant problems or complaints to a manager and/or supervisor.
- Monitor the golf course for any suspicious activity.
- Provide Pro Shop with all left-over golf keys to ensure safety and limit any damages to the golf cart fleet.
- Help keep the outside area uncontested, neat, and, clean.
- Does not allow carts to clog passage areas, arranging them neatly after being used.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Performs additional duties deemed necessary for Cart Attendant as needed.
- Assists grounds crew with additional work but not limited to weed eating and filling ball washers with clean water.
- Performs general custodial duties such as emptying trash and organizing can returns as well as maintaining an immediate work environment.
- Maintains order and continuity of player traffic.
- Tracks and reports the need for supplies necessary for day-to-day operations of assigned areas.
- All other job-related duties as assigned.

Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, executives, Board of Directors, customers, and outside vendor/service providers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical factors include constant standing, walking, reaching, hearing, smell, and near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision. Frequent lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions. Working conditions include constant noise exposure. Potential hazards include working with client contact; frequent equipment use. Ability to stand, kneel, and bend over for 6-8 hours.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Knowledge of golf courses and golf games preferred.
Certification/License:
Must maintain good moral character standing. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be able to follow instructions when operating cars, machinery, or equipment to ensure safety for all team members, members, and guests. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to deal effectively with the public. Must be able to prioritize work duties to accommodate the facility. Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly in person, by use of radio transmission, in writing, and by telephone and email. Must be able to promote good public relations in a cooperative, productive working environment. Must be able to respond to difficult and stressful situations in an efficient, effective, and positive manner. Must be able to analyze situations and adopt effective courses of action. Work performed is subject to review through inspection, communication, and by the reaction and comments of customers and guests using the course facilities. Native American preferred.
