POSITION SUMMARY :
The Accounting Project Specialist, under the direction of the ACFS Director, is responsible for performing a variety of accounting / financial functions to provide the ACFS Division’s Management Team support. This position plays a key role in budget planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Assists the Management Team with implementing, monitoring and analyzing financial reports and records for all ACFS Division.
- Analyzes financial data and creates financial reports for decision-making purposes to ACFS Management Team.
- Prepares internal financial reports and spreadsheets for management.
- Maintains contract files for numerous Federal, State and local grants and / or contracts.
- Assists in grant application and monitoring for compliance.
- Overseeing and managing the financial budgeting and forecasting process within the Division
- Assisting in the development and implementation of internal financial policies and procedures
- Providing guidance on financial management matters to Management Team
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations affecting financial records.
- Manage GSA Fleet
- Assists Management Team with the annual budget for each cost center and, as needed, modifications
- Assisting in the preparation of yearly audits and providing necessary financial data
- Reviews disbursement vouchers for proper documentation, company, and cost center and line numbers.
- Participates in monthly, quarterly and annual audits for internal and external examination.

Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor / program directors, managers in other departments, Accounting, Executive Team, Board of Directors, customers, outside vendors / service providers, Federal, State, local agency representatives and funding sources.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Position light with lifting of 20 pounds and frequent lifting / carrying up to 10 pounds. Physical factors include constant sitting and typing; frequent use of hearing and occasional standing, walking, carrying / lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, manual handling, use of near / midrange / far vision, depth perception and color / field of vision, travel and bending. Working conditions include occasional exposure to weather, extreme heat / cold and wet / humidity, noise, vibration and air quality.
REQUIREMENTS :
Education : Associates Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or three years demonstrated ability in related work experience required.
Experience : Minimum of one year experience in accounting or business-related field in addition to above stated education is required
Certification / License : Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.
