POSITION SUMMARY :
The Data and Applications Administrator, under the direction of the Data and Applications Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day oversight, planning, maintenance, support and operations of the large portfolio of enterprise applications and associated data used across the Tribe’s government, gaming & hospitality, health and enterprise divisions. Supports and leads application and data strategy and initiatives towards digital transformation, electronic workflow creation, cloud integration, Artificial Intelligence initiatives and system interfaces and integrations. Works closely with IT data resources and the executive leadership across the Tribe and enterprises to make data more available and actionable for leadership and to support a more data driven organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
Application & Data Support :
- Provide comprehensive technical support and administration for enterprise applications and back-office ERP systems utilized across various Tribal organizational divisions (Government & Membership Services, Gaming & Hospitality, Health Care, and Enterprises).
- Manage and support Tribal government service enterprise applications and associated data, ensuring their functionality, security, and integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to enterprise applications and data access.\
- Work closely with Data & Applications team to support data access, data integration and data normalization and cleansing, data classification and governance, ETL processes and data transformation.
- Provide data and application assistance and support in creating and maintaining automated workflows.
- Create and maintain database solutions and interfaces between systems and applications.
- Support legacy database solutions used across the organization, and where possible look to update these solutions to newer technology or off-the-shelf solutions
- Configure, maintain, and optimize application performance and user experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Position heavy with lifting of 100 pounds maximum and frequent lifting / carrying up to 50 pounds. Physical factors include constant use of color vision, typing; frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, use of hearing, driving, bending; occasional pushing / pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, manual handling, use of smell, near / midrange / far vision and field of vision. Working conditions include occasional exposure to weather, wet / humidity, noise and air quality. Potential hazards include constant computer use and occasional exposure to electric shock, high exposed places, chemicals and equipment. The IT Department is a 24 / 7 operation; working nights, weekends, holidays and on-call should be expected if scheduled to work.
REQUIREMENTS :
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems Management or five years demonstrated ability in relevant work experience in data and application administration support environment may be substituted for education.
Experience : No additional experience required.
Certification / License : Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Must comply with annual driver’s license review and insurability standards with the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Must undergo a Criminal background investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.
