PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for the supervision of Warehouse or Distribution Center personnel and operation for assigned area and or shift. Duties include: scheduling distribution center shift activities, receiving and shipping of guns and materials, monitoring productivity, resolving problems, supervision of personnel, and other similar duties pertaining to operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee, direct, and coordinate daily Warehouse or Distribution Center Activities. Manage daily/weekly schedules. Allocate available personnel to accomplish both routine work and high priority jobs.
- Manage, productivity and quality and ensure established SOP’s / KPI’s are maintained and adhered to. Respond to operational and/or technical problems and resolve. Logs warehouse operators’ productivity.
- Manage operations, processes, procedures, etc. and make recommendations to appropriate personnel to maximize efficiencies.
- Administer the daily receiving and shipping of assigned units. Implement and ensure proper methods and procedures are employed. Enforce safety rules and regulations and ensure required safety equipment is utilized.
- Monitor employee time and attendance records. Detect trends in attendance and take required actions within the limits of established policy and/or contract provisions. Handle disciplinary situations according to established policy.
- Manage daily operations and relationships with freight companies. Coordinates, schedules pickups with freight companies. Responsible for managing outbound freight bills and reconciling freight invoices. Prepares and completes Bills of Ladings for outbound shipments. Familiar with shipping classification codes. Archives and upkeeps daily orders and documents. Audits shipments regarding physical integrity of skids and piece count.
- Interacts with customers / customer facing documents directly. Assures customer compliance guidelines are met. Creates Advanced Ship Notices. Sends clients required documents. In contact with clients regarding shipping issues. Sets up customer returns. Address and resolve customer shipment issues as needed.
- Work with maintenance personnel to schedule maintenance and repair work on assigned equipment. Support QA, Purchasing, Planning, Manufacturing and Sales as needed.
- Hire, train, assign and check the work of subordinates as to company policy and procedures, methods and practices, standards of performance and other matters affecting their work. Detect substandard performance and take appropriate corrective actions. Evaluate performance of subordinates and confer with supervisor on personnel or other matters affecting subordinates.
- Maintain on hand inventory level of operating supplies. Process Request to Order/Reorders operating supplies and or equipment.
- Perform other similar duties as required by responsibility or necessity or as requested by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
3 to 5 years of receiving / shipping/warehousing experience. AS Degree or equivalent expertise, licenses, certifications, and warehousing knowledge. Strong computer skills. Thorough knowledge of Distribution Center Operations is a plus
