PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
Perform diversified duties to provide and maintain the safety and security of company property and employees on an assigned shift. Duties include: controlling traffic and access to facilities, issuing/collecting employee temporary badges, plant startup and shutdown procedures, physical checks of facilities, record keeping, and other similar duties primarily those pertaining to security.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide security for company property and employees. Visually check all entrances/exits, interiors, grounds, etc.
- Monitor metal detectors during shift hours with special attention given for lunch breaks and end of shift.
- Control access to the facilities. Greet visitors at the front gate and determine the nature of the visit.
- Record information pertinent to the visitor and notify appropriate personnel. Issue/collect visitor badges. Maintain accurate counts of employees, guests and other visitors in the facility.
- Record trucks entering and leaving facility. Record employee arrival and departures in log book as required; issue/collect temporary badges.
- Ensure alarm systems are activated and functioning properly. Respond to alarm calls.
- Log out guns on consignment and subsequent return, in for repair/service, etc.
- Ensure the safety of employees. Place calls to emergency services as required. Direct emergency services to the appropriate location. Coordinate with appropriate personnel in evacuation procedures and ensure all personnel are out of building.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6-months prior security experience or equivalent workforce experience
- Ability to handle office related material such as computer equipment, document printing, notebooks, ledgers, badge printer, etc.
