The primary responsibility of the Equipment Operator is to safely operate heavy machinery, such as track dozer and loaders, to handle petroleum coke in the Citgo refinery and Port of Corpus Christi storage pads in Corpus Christi, TX, and assist in maintaining the equipment according to Savage standards. Here is what you will be doing:
The Equipment Operator will contribute to a coke-handling team by operating several pieces of equipment that will help move, stockpile, and prepare petroleum coke for distribution
Operate any one of the following on a daily basis: a CAT 980 Loader (or equivalent) and a CAT D8 (or equivalent) Dozer
Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations, i.e. maintenance, clean-up, safety observations and inspections
Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections
Maintain cleanliness of equipment
Expand personal knowledge of operating equipment
Report maintenance issues to the maintenance crew
Understand our critical service requirements and see they are met
Take an active role in our safety program including attendance at all safety meetings and ensure safe behaviors
Ensure environmental compliance
Requirements of a successful Equipment Operator:
Must meet refinery standards for entering the plant, i.e. clean criminal history, ability to pass a hair-follicle drug screen, possess a current Driver’s License and TWIC card at the time of applying
Extensive experience operating large pieces of heavy equipment
Should understand best practices of maintaining and safely operating Heavy Equipment
Safety-conscious and understand safe work practices for a refinery
Comfortable with heights including the ability to walk up and down conveyor belt lines and climb ladder
Physical Requirements:
Can work safely, efficiently and thoroughly with no supervision
Strong commitment to Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security
Work shift work, weekends, and holidays
Lift up to 50lbs independently
