Position Summary:
Savage Services Corporation, an established materials management company, is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Savage Maintenance Program. The primary function of this position is to maintain and repair coke handling process equipment. Equipment will range from but is not limited to, belt conveyors, excavating heavy equipment, skid mount hydraulic pump units, skid mount lubrication pump systems, railcar loading systems, and coke drum un-heading/re-heading devices, and bridge cranes.
Here is what you will be doing:
Practice Valero safety procedures and rules
Must understand and implement the Savage Maintenance Program
Perform pre/post shift equipment inspections
Properly record and complete maintenance reports and service records
Repair and maintain pumps, motors, hydraulics, conveyors, and mobile and plant-specific equipment
Complete PM services on plant and process equipment.
Knowledge of rigging
Assist with any other special tasks assigned by management
Skills/Qualifications:
Experience with automated equipment and basic computers are a plus
Practices and understands time management, is a self-starter with a positive outlook
Strong mechanical and electrical repair background
Experience with repairing and maintaining bridge cranes and coke cutting equipment
Five years of experience with conveyors, changing rollers, pulleys, motors, changing and vulcanizing belts, bag houses, hoppers, crushers, magnets, scales, etc. with heavy equipment maintenance and repair
Knowledge and working experience with different types of welding and cutting
Boiler maker skills a plus
Knowledge of SAP {CMMS)
High School Diploma or greater
Understand the oil refining process and culture that comes with it
Physical Requirements:
Work with minimal supervision
Lift up to 50lbs without reasonable accommodations
Able to work outside in any weather conditions
