The Maintenance Manager leads the Maintenance Team in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment at Savage's Petroleum Coke Handling operation in Baytown, Texas. Savage manages and performs critical steps in the Coke supply chain, including management of product using a bridge crane, conveying systems, and barges. Savage also performs preventive and running maintenance of this equipment (minor and major), along with maintenance of Savage owned assets and customer owned decoking equipment.
Here is what you will be doing:
Ensure all employees follow proper safety rules, maintenance and operating procedures and facilitate corrective action
Write and revise maintenance procedures as needed
Oversee development and execution of weekly maintenance schedule
Supervise daily maintenance activities and work force performing maintenance
Assist in all training of employees in proper maintenance techniques and equipment operation
Lead preventative maintenance practices
Maintain the CMMS to ensure the system is properly utilized
Manage spare parts inventory and ensure that necessary amounts of inventory are in stock to reduce any delays or failures
Perform daily inspections and maintenance audits
Communicate with the customer in a professional and competent manner
Maintenance: extensive knowledge of conveyor systems, decoking equipment, hydraulics, and vessel loading systems
Experience executing planned and scheduled maintenance activities with a focus to reduce emergency and reactive work
Working knowledge of mechanical systems, trouble shooting and problem solving
Thorough understanding of reliability initiatives and reliability focused methodology
This is what we need from you:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with bulk materials, conveyor systems, tractor/trailers, and heavy equipment
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role, preferably maintenance
Background in Preventative Maintenance and Mechanical Reliability
Knowledge and experience using a CMMS
Background in planning and scheduling maintenance
Extensive knowledge operating a variety of equipment is a plus
Experience with applying safety regulations and written procedures within a refinery or chemical plant is required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Light welding and fabrication skills are a plus
Physical Requirements:
Able to work in all types of weather conditions
Lift up to 50lbs by hand without a reasonable accommodation
Available as needed at a 24/7 operation
Should be comfortable working from elevated surfaces
