Savannah Animal Hospital, located in historic Lewes, DE, is seeking a full-time Front Desk Receptionist/CSR to join our busy 7-doctor general practice.

Front Desk/Client Service Representative Duties:
- Greet all clients in-person and by telephone in a prompt and welcoming manner - our reception team is the client’s first impression of our hospital.
- Answer a high volume of phone calls using a multi-line phone system.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments in accordance with established processes to maintain hospital flow and quality of care.
- Perform activities such as client check-in/outs, answer questions, complete paperwork, process payments, explain fees, prepare invoices, confirm appointments, etc.
- Help clients with the purchase of pet food, prescriptions, and other retail items.
- Triage same day sick and emergency appointment requests.
- Provide compassionate assistance to clients during their pet’s end of life stage.
- Enter and verify client data using a computerized client records database.
- Process incoming and outgoing email, faxes, and other correspondence.
- Complete end-of-day reporting and balance funds drawer.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the waiting room and stock supplies as needed.
- Cleanup of animal "accidents" in the lobby, sidewalks, and parking area will be part of the daily routine.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a front desk receptionist or client service position in a high-patient volume veterinary hospital or medical setting.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience with high volume appointment scheduling for multiple doctors using scheduling software.
- A basic understanding of common companion animal issues, preventatives, and treatments helpful.
- Must be comfortable around animals that are injured, sick, aggressive, or at the end-of-life stage.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during emotional or upsetting situations.
- Comfortable working in a loud environment with frequent barking, whining, growling, etc.
- Occasional heavy lifting when assisting clients with large bags or cases of pet food, etc.
- Shifts are four 10-hour days, 40 hours per week, with rotating Saturdays.
- No late nights or Sundays.
