What are the responsibilities and job description for the Men's Ministry Director position at Savannah Care Center?
The mission of the Savannah Care Center Men's Ministry is to empower men to become present, loving fathers through education and peer support in a non-judgemental, Christ-Centered environment. The Men’s Ministry Director oversees the implementation of quality programming for men in unplanned pregnancy situations, provides peer support directly to these men, and trains others to do so.
Savannah Care Center is a faith-based, nonprofit pregnancy resource center dedicated to providing compassion, hope and help to women and men experiencing unplanned pregnancies. Savannah Care Center does not perform or refer for abortions.
Essential Duties:
- Oversee the quality and direction of the fatherhood program and services given by volunteer Fatherhood Coaches.
- Seek and apply for funding opportunities to support the continued growth of the fatherhood program.
- Evaluate or create educational materials for expecting fathers.
- Meet with male clients as needed to provide pregnancy decision support.
- Mentor young fathers.
- Teach group classes or hold group meetings for male clients as needed.
- Develop community outreaches to dads / potential male clients.
- Encourage and show appreciation to volunteer Fatherhood Coaches.
- Provide continuing education opportunities to volunteer Fatherhood Coaches.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or greater.
- Agree with and be willing to uphold the Commitment of Care and Competence, Core Values, Statement of Faith, and policies of the center.
- Commitment to strict confidentiality of client information.
- Have experience in a related field such as Christian ministry, Christian counseling or social work (preferred but not required).
- Exhibit skills in interpersonal communication and management.
- Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship and support to men's program volunteers.
- Be a self-starter; able to carry out responsibilities with minimal direction.
