Primary Function: This position is responsible for working as a consultant to area schools to optimize the potential of children with autism or other developmental disabilities which involves carefully analyzing the environment and assisting the educational staff in developing a program to assist students in acquiring skills.

Salary Schedule: Grade PS-3
Work Days: 219 Days
Experience, Skill, and Certification:
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of behavior analysis
REQUIREMENTS:
- Behavior Analyst certification
- One or more years of supervised experience developing, training, implementing, and monitoring behavior plans for children with autism or developmental disabilities
- Experience in developing, training, implementing, and monitoring verbal behavior programs
- Effective oral and written communication skills; and outstanding social skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Facilitates functional behavioral assessments and analyses.
- Participates in the development of behavior intervention plans.
- Participates in the development of Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs).
- Confers with and/or trains staff, administrators, parents and others as necessary
- Provides professional leadership to personnel designated to implement behavior intervention plans.
- Analyzes data.
- Monitors the implementation of treatment plans.
- Modifies plans as necessary.
- Works with collaboratively with other key personnel in the autism program.
- Conducts applied behavioral analysis workshops and seminars.
- Follows policies of the Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools and the Department for Exceptional Children.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of state and federal guidelines as they relate to placement.
- Upholds the highest standards of confidentiality.
- Attends IEP meetings as needed.
- Provides support to teachers/paraprofessionals (both special and regular education) who work with children with autism.
- Assists in the development of data collection systems to describe and improve behavior, track mastery of goals and objectives, and other areas as needed.
- Communicates to the appropriate individuals the results and conclusions of any evaluations.
- Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization and the safety of students.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Incumbents will be considered “at will.” Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade as determined by Human Resources and allowable experience. The work calendar will be 219 days. Exempt Grade PS-3 Revised 06-16
