Description

Savannah Christian Preparatory School, a prominent school in Savannah, Georgia with a rich history and known for its strong liberal arts curriculum, seeks faculty for the upcoming academic year. The candidates for this position will be carefully and prayerfully evaluated according to the following essential criteria:


  • Profess Christian with a Biblically sound faith experience that is clearly communicated and modeled.
  • Display a personal and professional behavior reflective of the characteristics of a Christ-follower.
  • Hold a core belief in Biblical integration within a framework of academics, with the ability to implement and expand such a framework.
  • Reflect excellence in curriculum content, planning, alignment, and delivery.
  • Demonstrate expertise in instructional practices, management, and assessments.
  • Establish an engaging learning environment and positive student relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments and divisions.
  • Contribute to collegiality, community, and school expectations.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum development. Create lesson plans aligned with applicable standards and student needs, incorporating diverse teaching methods and activities to cater to different learning styles.
  • Instructional delivery. Teach concepts clearly and effectively, utilizing visual aids, technology, and real-world applications to enhance understanding.
  • Student assessment. Regularly monitor student progress through quizzes, tests, projects, and class participation to identify strengths and areas needing additional support.
  • Individualized learning. Provide differentiated instruction to address the diverse needs of students, offering extra help or enrichment activities as required.
  • Classroom management. Maintain a positive and structured learning environment, promoting active participation and student engagement.
  • Communication: Regularly communicate with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance, progress, and any concerns.
  • Professional development. Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on current teaching strategies and best practices.

Requirements

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the appropriate subject is required at a minimum; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Formal classroom teaching experience preferred.

  • Technological Proficiency: Competence in incorporating technology tools into science instruction to enhance student engagement and facilitate learning.
  • Professional development. Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on current teaching strategies and best practices.
