This position is responsible for moving trailers to and from dock doors based on instructions from supervisors or the shipping office while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. Jockey driver will check with the office several times a day to see what containers are needed to put in the bays to be loaded or unloaded. It is the responsibility of the jockey driver to keep the yard organized and clean. When loaded containers are pulled from the door it is the jockey driver's responsibility to close the doors on the container and put seals on them. Always ensure the cleanliness and adequate fueling of trailers. The position may require the completion of additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities

- Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
- Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
- Transport raw materials to production workstations
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
- Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
- Help maintain a safe, clean and orderly environment of the facility
- Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages to the vehicles and/or equipment
- Maintain logs of trailer movements and fuel
- Communicate with appropriate departments on daily movements of trailers
- Other duties as assigned
- Check/set trailer and yard temperature, add fuel if needed
- Perform daily inspections on spotter truck and equipment
- Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages to the vehicles and/or equipment
- Maintain logs of trailer movements and fuel
- Communicate with appropriate departments on daily movements of trailers
- Check trailer inventory and report any irregularities on log forms
- Perform sanitation duties on trailers as assigned
- Safe Work in a timely & safe manner
- Satisfactory MVR
- Communicate professional and diplomatically
- Excellent time management skills
- Valid license
- Minimum 2 years' experience
