Job Overview

Duties
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards in English language and literature.
- Assess student performance through various methods including tests, assignments, and classroom participation.
- Provide academic advising to students, helping them set educational goals and improve their skills.
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a productive classroom environment.
- Offer tutoring sessions for students needing additional support in English language skills.
- Mentor students in their academic pursuits, encouraging critical thinking and effective communication.
- Integrate special education strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs within the classroom.
- Conduct research on best teaching practices and incorporate findings into lesson plans.
- Encourage students to express themselves through writing, fostering creativity and personal style.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and community events related to education.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; teaching certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Experience in classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to mentor and guide students effectively in their academic journey.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a passion for teaching.
- Familiarity with special education principles is a plus.
- Previous experience in tutoring or journalism is desirable but not mandatory.
