Job Overview:
Savannah Oaks Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated 7th & 8th Grade Science Teacher to inspire and engage students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in middle school science education and a commitment to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for scientific discovery.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with middle school science standards.
- Teach life science, physical science, and earth/space science concepts in a way that is interactive and student-centered.
- Incorporate hands-on experiments, labs, and project-based learning to enhance student understanding.
- Assess and monitor student progress through a variety of assessments, including quizzes, projects, and lab reports.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those needing additional support or enrichment.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
- Integrate technology and real-world applications into the curriculum.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and achievements.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
- Uphold the values and mission of Savannah Oaks Academy in all aspects of teaching and student engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field preferred
- Relevant experience in middle school science instruction.
- Strong knowledge of 7th and 8th grade science curriculum, including STEM concepts.
- Experience with hands-on learning, labs, and project-based instruction.
- Ability to engage and inspire students in a hybrid learning environment.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
- Passion for student success and scientific exploration.
