Position Overview: Savannah On Wheels is seeking a Shop Associate/Bicycle Technician to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. Key Responsibilities:
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing knowledgeable assistance and advice.
- Listen to customers' concerns, gather information about their cycling needs, and recommend appropriate services or upgrades.
- Perform accurate and thorough bicycle assembly according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
- Execute efficient and effective repairs, including fixing flat tires, adjusting brakes and gears, and replacing worn-out parts.
- Educate customers on bicycle maintenance and best practices to enhance their riding experience.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to share knowledge, solve complex problems, and ensure seamless workflow in the shop.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and productive team environment.
Qualifications:
- We are willing to train the right candidate but an understanding of various bicycle types, components, and technologies is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Physical ability to lift heavy bicycles and equipment, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks.
- Knowledge of local cycling routes, trails, and events is a plus.
