The Savannah RIII School District is seeking an Elementary Music Teacher to provide high-quality music education across three of our elementary schools. This traveling position will engage students in a comprehensive music curriculum, fostering a love of music while developing their musical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, standards-aligned music instruction to elementary students at three school locations.
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons that integrate singing, movement, instruments, and music theory.
Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to explore music.
Coordinate and lead school music programs, including concerts, performances, and special events.
Collaborate with building principals and teachers to integrate music into the broader educational experience.
Maintain an organized schedule to effectively serve all assigned elementary buildings.
Travel between school locations as required, ensuring continuity in instruction and communication.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help students achieve learning goals.
Manage and maintain classroom instruments, resources, and materials.
Support school-wide initiatives and participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Valid Missouri teaching certification in Music Education (K-12 or appropriate grade levels).
Experience teaching elementary music preferred.
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
Ability to adapt lessons and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to coordinate schedules across multiple buildings.
Willingness to collaborate with school staff and parents to support student learning.
Additional Information:
Travel between three elementary school buildings is required.
