What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Summer Intern position at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions?
What You'll Do in This Position
The hourly base rate of pay for this internship starts at $18.00, and may increase based on major and class standing.
Begin to plan and develop engineered solutions to technical tasks or project objectives. Begin using systems and meeting
requirements with supervisory guidance.
Assume technical responsibility for one or more related phases of a program.
Cooperate with other engineers / scientists performing related phases of the technical work.
Be cognizant of the work performed in other projects in field of technology.
Assist in the development of quality assurance (QA) metrics to serve as indicators for the entire QA organization to allow for quantitative analysis of quality and efficiency using software such as PowerBI. The proposed metrics will serve to estimate progress as well as predict and / or demonstrate trends. The metrics must be easy to track and monitor. Some will be proactive, others maybe reactive indicators. Results and corrective actions from QA activities (e.g., audits, assessments, surveillances) will be evaluated and trended as a baseline for the QA organization.
Qualifications We Require
Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university, or within one year after finishing a degree program.
Must have completed freshman year of college.
Must successfully complete Savannah River Site General Employee Training and substance abuse processing.
Other Qualifications
Unofficial transcripts are required and must be uploaded into BrassRing before the job posting closes.
Undergraduate or graduate student progressing towards a Technical or Business
related degree. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint)
Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university, or within one year after finishing a degree program.

Develop conventional solutions to technical task objectives within various SRNS facility engineering organizations. Learn SRNS and specific department / facility systems and requirements for accomplishing tasks.
Assist more senior technical personnel in performing related activities in more complex tasks. Perform the following tasks relative to specific facility operations :
Discipline specific ownership and maintenance of the following types of systems among others :
- Nuclear Chemical and Industrial Unit Operations
- Industrial Mechanical systems (Nuclear and Non-nuclear HVAC, Rotating Equipment)
- Instrumentation and Control Systems
- Utilities (Power Distribution, Steam, Water Compressed Gases)
- Civil / Structural (Buildings, Roads, Bridges, Dams)
- Fire Protection Systems
Specific day to day tasks may include :
