What You'll Do in This Position
The primary role of a Lineman is to install, maintain and repair high-powered electrical lines and systems. A Lineman works on both transmission and distribution lines that originate from a power plant and extend to individual Site Facilities. They will be operating electric utility service vehicles such as Bucket Trucks and Digger/Derrick trucks and equipment associated with electrical distribution repair and maintenance. Perform overhead electrical line work from standard operating procedures, verbal instructions and work orders Attend classroom, on-the-job and other type training as deemed necessary by line management. Run and repair both overhead and underground electrical cables and wires. Daily responsibilities of a Lineman might include installing meters, repairing overhead lines and structures or inspecting power lines for possible repair or replacement.
Perform overhead electrical line work from standard operating procedures, verbal instructions and work orders.
Meet driving responsibilities associated with the relocation and set up of electric utility service vehicles. Set up electric utility service vehicles in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and established Site procedures.
Complete "before-use" inspections of electric utility service vehicles.
Read, understand and perform calculations in accordance with the electric utility service vehicles load charts including factors affecting hook load, rope, and the area of operation.
Perform administrative functions such as reading and understanding operational manuals and procedures. Complete other administrative functions as needed to perform the assigned job tasks and requirements.
Perform excavating duties utilizing the electric utility service vehicles for pole replacements.
Execute other duties as required and assigned by management.
Security Clearance Information
SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications We Require
Candidates must have completed ACT WorkKeys Skills Assessment and achieved minimum scores of 2 in Workplace Observation; 3 in Graphic Literacy and 4 in Applied Technology. Test scores must be within the last five years. Official transcripts must be provided to the company for considerations of employment.
Successful completion of applicable unit skills test.
Physical requirements include handling 50 pounds, climbing, bending, twisting, exposure to extreme temperatures and various types of weather while utilizing the proper ARC Flash and shock protection PPE.
Possess a current and valid S.C. Class "A" CDL License.
Provide a valid medical examiner's certificate for the DOT medical exam.
Requires the following combinations of education/experience levels for installing, repairing, monitoring and maintaining overhead power lines and associated equipment.
* Certification from an accredited and recognized Electrical Line worker program and 3-5 years practical experience. (e.g. Northwest Lineman College, Southeast Lineman Training Center, etc.)
* Completion of a Lineman training program from a recognized Technical College and at least 5 years practical experience. (e.g. York Technical College, Horry-Georgetown Technical College, etc.)
* Completion of an apprentice lineman training course provided by an outside utility and at least 6 years practical experience. (e.g. Dominion Energy, Aiken Co-Op, Southern Company, Duke, etc.)
Other Qualifications
Able to obtain and maintain L security clearance
