Job Summary
Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for Web Developer. This position has a key role in planning, building and maintaining Savannah State University’s websites and web applications. The Web Developer supports academic and non-academic units with their web-related projects. This positon writes performant and secure front-end and back-end code; and is expected to use current best practices across a variety of technologies. Creates, implements, and maintains intuitive and functional web design; writes high quality, SEO –focused front-end code using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. Writes and maintains web applications and API’s built in . NET ; administers CMS and hosting environments. May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience preferred. Deep understanding of web standards and best practices; strong knowledge of general web development techniques/ concepts such as SEO , analytics and accessibility. Familiarity with developing API’s in C#; experience with Azure is a plus. Familiarity with various content management systems including Cascade Server and DotNetNuke; an in-depth understanding of relational databases including MSSQL & Oracle; experience with JavaScript including frameworks and libraries like Angular and JQuery. Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS , and Bootstrap. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, data networks and web security; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Background and/or credit check required.
