Compliance Specialist II - Retirement Plan Services Team

We are seeking an experienced Retirement Plan Administration Compliance Specialist II to provide expert guidance and oversight for both internal and external client administration support. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and coordinating administration services for qualified plans, interpreting plan documents, and offering strategic recommendations. The Compliance Specialist II can expect to focus in the following areas:

• Provide expertise in interpreting plan documents and provide plan design recommendations.
• Monitor client year end reporting and review data for completeness and accuracy.
• Manage the process of plan document restatements, amendments, and notices as required or requested.
• Review Government reporting including 5500s, and supporting schedules as needed.
• Work closely with day to day plan contacts and vendor partners on plan
• Provide peer review of documents and materials completed by other Compliance Specialists and Compliance Associates
• Provide direction to Compliance Associates regarding plan related administrative tasks.
• Develop and maintain compliance administration process and procedures.
• Maintain team approach by assisting and filling in for others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

A couple things to note about our Compliance Specialist II position:

• This position is an in-person position based out of our Rockford, IL office.
• You can expect to work an average of 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM.

The Compliance Specialist II position typically requires the following qualifications:

Our "Must Have's":

• Experience: 5 - 7 years experience in qualified plan administration & consulting with demonstrated ability to provide technical support and consulting to advisors and clients
• Education: Bachelors degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as record keeping, plan document and 5500 software.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Client first attitude.
• A team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others.

Our "Nice to Have's":

• ASPPA designation (QKA or equivalent)
• Thorough knowledge of Excel to include functions, formulas, and tables.

The Perks:

The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $53,000 - 73,000. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions.
