Maintenance Tech

Savard is hiring a Generator Tech for work in Bossier CIty, La for Job #19140.

Job duties will include :

Completes corrective and preventative maintenance of generator systems, including installation of pre-heaters;battery chargers;fuel systems and other related diesel parts. Operation and maintenance of various types of diesel, gasoline, natural gas, and propane fueled generator sets or similar equipment

Completes wiring modifications to diesel control circuits and electrical apparatus specific to the diesel standby system.

Investigates, diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs diesel standby and transfer switch system problems.

Performs preventive maintenance including checking for leaks, worn parts, taking oil samples;orders and installs replacement parts;adjusts, calibrates and inspects the operation of auto transfer switch equipment.

Prepares records of repairs, maintenance, parts ordered and parts used.

Documents modifications to system.

Transports equipment, tools and fluids to and from work sites;operates and maintains equipment, tools and safety devices which are designed to lift, move, transport, repair, inspect, measure or protect.

Restore residual voltage to generator exciter field.

Read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, service manuals, panels and meters.

Handle problems on a priority basis and investigate all alternatives.

Operation and maintenance of various types of diesel, gasoline, natural gas, and propane fueled generator sets or similar equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Graduation from high school or vocational school.
• Must have 1 Experience working as a Generator Mechanic / Tech installation and repair of generators.
• Preferred experience working in compliance with NFPA 110
• Able to pass a background check.
• Valid Driver License
• Reliable Transportation

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to lift 50lbs or more

Must be able to lift, squat, bend, and stand for long periods of time

Shifts / Hours :

M-F, 7 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm. 45 hrs per week with 1 hr lunch

20-$25 / hr DOE

Up to $1187 w 45 hours / week
