Job Duties
- Care for a medically complex and emotionally challenging patient population that requires compassion, empathy, and the ability to deescalate and appropriately react to unacceptable behavior in individual and group settings.
- Document medical and behavioral encounters in health record management systems.
- Administer and process consent forms and other patient questionnaires as needed.
- Assist medical and behavioral provider in writing and transferring orders.
- Transfer imaging from partner portals into health record management systems.
- Prepare patient charts prior to medical and behavioral encounters.
- Collect and document vital signs.
- Administer urine drug screen and record results. Assist medical provider with UDS interpretation and process UDS confirmation as necessary.
- Obtain and assist medical provider in reviewing the Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) report.
- Process referrals as ordered to other external providers and community health resources.
- Document injection consents and assist with injections.
- Provide customer support to patients in the clinic including scheduling, appointment confirmation, and provider sequencing.
- Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked. Notifies supervisor when supplies are needed.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
- Flow coordination duties as assigned.
- Data entry and administrative duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties consistent with the above responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification.
- 2 years of related experience.
- Medical Scribe certification (preferred).
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
