A Cashier rings customer orders on a cash register, operates the checkstand belt, handles Electronic Benefit Transfers, coupons, cash and other forms of payment from customers according to store policy. Cashiers make pickups, perform fractional calculations quickly, and verbally communicate with customers. They balance the register and account for the receipts periodically during a shift and at the end of a shift. They stock product on shelves in various areas of the store. They perform routine cleaning and sweeping functions around the store, including restrooms. They collect shopping carts from the parking lot.

- Operate a cash register and checkout belt
- Mentally calculate fractional division quickly
- Lift up to 30 lbs.
- Communicate verbally with customers
- Operate an intercom system
- Collect money and give correct change to customers
- Redeem Food Stamps/coupons/gift certificates correctly
- Manage receipts and balance within prescribed limits
- Perform sweeping and general cleaning duties around but not limited to their work area
- Stock all areas of the store in the correct locations, neatly and accurately
- Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and place in the store
- Reach and stock product up to 6 feet high
- Work in a refrigerated environment
- Maintain neat personal appearance
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Travel to and from work
- Maintain, clean, sanitize, and keeps secure all areas in which Customers and or employees use.
- Answer phones.
