Purpose
Responsible for the creative design and planning of retail stores. Review and interpret existing conditions from as- built drawings and photos to develop a fixture plan in accordance to company standards. Collaborate with cross functional team members to ensure store layouts meets business needs and deadlines. Provide approved drawings to architect hired for the project.
Responsibilities
Handles projects with supervision and guidance from more senior positions
Draws and supports the creation of floor plans, site plans and construction documents as they relate to the development of retail environments utilizing prototype and established standards.
Renders exterior elevations using Photoshop and InDesign
Reviews and interprets existing conditions, constraints, and opportunities from provided as-built drawings and photos
Understands and implements merchandising initiatives and in accordance with IBC & ADA codes into plan development
Collaborates with cross functional team members to ensure feasibility, cost compliance, and revise the design/layout accordingly
Maintains project files and share with internal and external business partners as required
Updates store floor plans according to the hired architect’s drawings and merchandising needs
Provides support for special projects as requested by Manager
Delivers projects in a timely and effective manner
Participates on cross-functional teams and/or provide support for special projects as requested
Upholds CAD and drafting standards and assist in the upkeep of the block library and reference plan
Performs other duties as assigned
About You
Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred.
1-3 years of experience preferred
Proficient in AutoCad, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, and Store Planning Software
Knowledge of ADA regulations and International Building Code
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read merchandising plans and understand construction industry practices
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Possess a good understanding of merchandising principles
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
Must be flexible in nature and work well in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel up to ~10% of the time, which may include weekends and evenings, as needed.
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
Salary : $59,500 - $81,500
