Purpose
The HR Media Production Specialist is responsible for creating, producing, and editing a variety of multimedia content, including videos, graphics, and print/audio materials, to effectively communicate messages to support business goals. The Media Production Specialist manages the technical aspects of production, such as camera operation, lighting, sound design, and post-production editing, while ensuring that the final product aligns with the intended creative vision and audience. The Media Production Specialist collaborates with stake holders across the business to develop content for digital platforms, training, and internal and external audiences to enhance brand visibility, storytelling, and engagement.
Responsibilities
Plans and coordinates multimedia projects, commissioned by the HR & Corporate Communications team, including video, audio, and graphic content, to meet project goals and deadlines.
Operates video and audio equipment, including cameras, microphones, and lighting setups, during shoots.
Edits video and audio content using a variety of software technology and instructional design software to create and deliver learning assets.
Creates motion graphics and visual effects to enhance video content, improve storytelling and increase training
Collaborates with teams across the business to ensure alignment on content goals and brand consistency
Develops storyboard and script content, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure messaging and visuals align with the company’s objectives.
Manages post-production processes, including color correction, sound mixing, and final delivery of multimedia files.
Ensures content is optimized for different platforms, such as social media, websites, or internal presentations, adapting formats and resolutions as needed.
Maintains production schedules, tracking timelines and budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
Conducts quality control reviews to ensure final products meet technical and creative standards.
Stays updated on industry trends and new technology in media production to keep the company’s content innovative and relevant.
Archives and organizes media assets, ensuring that raw footage, project files, and final versions are stored in Save A Lot’s SharePoint for future use.
Assists in writing, designing, developing, and delivering learning content and effective proficiency/application exercises utilizing accepted content development approaches for a variety of
audiences and delivery methods including e-Learning, Classroom Instructor led, Virtual Instructor led, video, infographics, job aids, games, etc.
Applies technical knowledge to identify trends and solutions for Talent Development products and services.
Manages pre-production processes, including shoot staffing, lighting and equipment identification.
Consultant on the creation of in-house studio and equipment needs.
Leads, manages, and develops projects.
Coach/teach others on facilitation and instructional design as needed.
About You
Bachelor’s Degree in multimedia design, instructional design, or related field in adult learning and development or an equivalent amount of experience is preferred.
2-4 years of experience in Camera operation, along with lighting and audio experience.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams, subject matter experts, and field teams to take ideas from concept through implementation
Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, and will excel at interacting with diverse audiences through various forms of media
Skilled project manager who can operate with a high degree of responsibility, independence, and accountability for large-scale projects.
Broad technical & software experience to include but not limited to Articulate Storyline, Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects and Illustrator
Knowledge of industry approved training & development models such as ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick preferred.
Aligns learning solutions to business requirements using adult learning theories, accepted instructional design processes, and Training Development Return on Investment methodology
Experience creating visual learning components for PowerPoint presentations along with animations and interactive elements for eLearning courseware
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel up to ~15% of the time, which may include weekends and evenings, as needed
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
