Job Overview
SAVE, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join the agency as the Assistant Director of Programs. This position will provide direct and indirect support to all SAVE, Inc. programs, but will play a significant role in managing the various components of SAVE, Inc.’s Youth Initiative. The individual in this position will implement the policies and procedures of PRIDE Haven, Alhaven Supportive Housing Program, and will provide direct supervision and management of the Youth Homelessness Demonstration program’s day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
Programs
- Reviews budgets and coordinate regular expenditure on day-to-day operations in accordance with the overall budget of each program.
- Oversee the daily data collection and compile monthly reports including resident statistics, budget compliance, and program updates.
- Ensure preparation for program specific emergency response situations.
- Monitors youth compliance with program expectations and guidelines.
- Ensure thorough documentation of all incidents and violations of shelter and agency policy and provide notice of incidents to agency leadership.
- Maintain a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the programs and the agency.
- Provide services in a manner that is trauma-informed, harm reductive, and person-centered.
- Provides active supervision of staff in youth serving programs.
- Ensure staff are maintaining the shelter to include coaching young people on using laundry facilities, doing chores, and ensuring health and safety standards.
- Ensure staff are encouraging residents to care for their basic needs (sleep, nutrition, health care, clothing, hygiene supplies, etc.) and offering donated products and coaching to promote good hygiene & care of their environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Staff
- Recruit, interview, and hire all youth initiative staff members in collaboration with the Shelter Supervisor.
- In collaboration with agency leadership, provide orientation and training to all new employees.
- Supervise and evaluate staff members.
- Apply progressive disciplinary action to include termination of employees, when appropriate, under the guidance of agency leadership and according to the policies of the agency.
Agency
- Abide by the agency’s Value Statement, Mission Statement, policies, and procedures.
- Commit to and advance the agency’s DEIB commitments.
- Strictly adhere to agency confidentiality requirements as it relates to any information about clients, donors, agency information, and all other information as identified by the Chief Executive Officer and other members of agency leadership.
- Ensure thorough documentation of all incidents and violations of agency policy and provide notice of incidents to agency leadership.
- Employ teamwork, communication, customer service, and organizational abilities to the advancement of the position and the agency.
- Serve as an ambassador for SAVE, Inc. with those served, service providers, potential volunteers, and/or the public about the services of SAVE, Inc.
- Directly address with supervisor any areas identified for overall programmatic or agency improvement.
- Maintain driver’s license in good standing and adequate auto insurance.
- Assist with development/communications activities as needed.
- Provide routine communication on resident and programmatic issues to the Director of Programs and other agency leadership as requested.
- Communicate directly with the Director of Programs on all issues related to employment, vacation time, sick time, and any circumstance related to time needed away from work during expected working hours.
- Uphold ethical, legal, and conflict of interest standards as outlines in the personnel policies.
Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in supervision and management, program implementation, and evaluation required.
- Strong supervisory skills with a track record of managing teams effectively.
- Experience working with individuals who have disabilities is highly desirable.
- Excellent relationship management capabilities to engage various stakeholders positively.
- Demonstrated ability in program development and administrative functions.
- Proficient in program management practices, ensuring efficient operation of services.
- Background in social work or similar disciplines is an asset.
- Strong budgeting skills to manage financial resources effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
