The Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Division (MCF), reporting to the CMO, is a highly dynamic and collaborative team that is dedicated to driving a consistent, impactful brand experiences that encourages action. We want to inspire relationships, not transactions -- across all key audiences - corporate partners, Large Public Institutions, policymakers, and employees.
Save the Children's Advisor II of Social Media will be responsible for leading the implementation of the organization's social media strategy, social channel management, optimizing supporter engagement across multiple platforms, social-first content creation, reporting and analytics and crisis management.
In this role, you will balance innovative storytelling, compelling and purposeful messaging, brand strategy and data-driven insights to build and deliver an impactful and engaging social presence.
You will guide the team in joining existing conversations in the social media landscape around breaking news, policy and advocacy priorities, global events and thought leadership opportunities. You will play a central role in identifying, communicating and integrating social media strategic priorities with colleagues across the organization to position Save the Children as a leader, increase brand visibility and engagement in support of our broader mission.
What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)*

Social Media Strategy, Planning & Execution (25%)
- Support the execution of the social media strategy and objectives for the team as part of the integrated Social Media, Influencer and Creators team strategy, and aligned to broader Communications team goals, MCF divisional strategic initiatives and agency steers.
- Manage social media editorial calendar; oversee daily post scheduling
- Delegate content and responsibilities. Prioritize accordingly to ensure the team is able to adapt and consistently deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Social Media Content Strategy (25%)
- Develop social media content strategy proactively for planned moments (e.g. campaigns, calendar-led moments, SLT/Board program visits, etc.) and reactively for unplanned moments (e.g. emergencies, breaking news, talent engagement, etc.), ensuring the team is ready to respond to rapidly changing external events.
- Collaborate closely with Brand Marketing and Creative teams to develop new content and determine what existing content may be repurposed for social media.
- Closely monitor news and trending topics to capitalize on engagement opportunities as appropriate.
- Create social-first content when appropriate
- Guide A/B testing and optimization to garner data-driven insights and inform overall content strategy
- Oversee production of toolkits for emergencies & other large media moments
Stakeholder Management, Internal Collaboration and Mobilization (25%)
- Work closely with multiple internal stakeholders, serving as primary social media liaison to a number of teams including, but not limited to, humanitarian media and communications, government relations, Global Creative Content Unit at Save the Children International, the Office of the President and Board of Trustees.
- Collaborate with Chief of Staff, Media and Strategic Communications team and others to shape executive and trustee thought leadership strategy presence on social media.
- Partner with external stakeholders such as corporate partners and talent to drive engagement and achieve shared objectives.
Operations (25%)
- Closely monitor new developments, trends and best practices in social media engagement to ensure Save the Children is always a leader in social engagement.
- Evaluate new platforms or presence on existing
- Partner with team to identify best-in-class tools for social listening; guide team on monitoring and reporting for internal and external needs.
- Support community management across social channels.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least seven (7) years of relevant experience
- Deep understanding and hands-on experience of digital and social media marketing.
- Proven expertise in managing owned social media channels.
- Ability to comfortably and confidently advise colleagues and drive projects in the face of ambiguity and competing deliverables.
- Familiarity with traditional media and social media news cycles; deep understanding of competitive landscape and compelling content strategies.
- Hands-on experience working in a fast-paced communications or media environment.
- Demonstrated writing, verbal communications and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
- Self-reliant, inherently curious, results-oriented problem-solver.
- Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in crisis communications
- Experience working in a complex highly matrixed global organization
- Experience working directly with senior leadership and adept at stakeholder management
Compensation
Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:
- Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $108,800 - $121,600 base salary
- Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $98,600 - $110,200 base salary
- Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $88,400 - $98,800 base salary
The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).

Salary : $88,400 - $98,800
