Job Title: Relief Operator I
Hours Required: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM (Monday -Thursday) with OT, weekends, and coverage for other shifts as required.
Position Description: This position operates packaging equipment in a food production line in an assembly process. This includes using equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along the production lines. Operates lines within quality specifications using procedures set by Company policy to ensure that final products meet high-quality standards. This position works under minimal supervision and directs the work of line employees. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Essential Functions

· Independently runs and operates at least 5 production lines
· Sets up line, prepares paperwork, drains line and assures readiness for production
· Ability to conduct full changeovers on applicable lines using proper procedure
· Ability to operate all aspects of the lines (lidders, film drives) and piston adjustments
· Completes required paperwork
· Actively participates and enforces continuous improvement process/TPM
· Understands and achieves efficiency objectives
· Operates packaging lines with quality specifications, ensure proper coding, quality, texture and weights. Monitor regularly following procedures if and when product or package is out of specifications
· Conducts line meetings daily to assure line team is aware of needs and schedule
· Ability to give direction and communicate with other employees on the line
· Ensures proper coding of product must double check and verify against quality management sheet and schedule
· Ability to operate, troubleshoots, and corrects coder and labeler equipment
· Ensures product quality
· Keeps work area neat and clean during and at end of run
· Performs daily PM’s, basic adjustments, checklist completion, and minor repairs
· Adjusts pressure valves, fill nozzles, water sets without the aid of maintenance
· Maintains equipment during operation
· Completes work requests as warranted and follows proper distribution procedure
- Follows all Quality policies & procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Follows all Safety policies & procedures and participates in monthly observations
· Trained and able to properly handle chemicals
· Trains other employees when needed
· Maintains regular, predictable attendance
· Coordinate breaks for line employees and operators.
· Assist Team Leads in coordinating daily activities, projects, rework, salvage, etc.
· Set up lines and restock materials in fill areas and packaging side
· Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct reports but does provide direction to production line employees.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours vary depending on the shift and department. Overtime and weekend work are required at times. Vacation coverage as needed.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
