Position Description:
This position operates company-owned and/or leased trucks and tractor-trailers to deliver perishable products between local locations. This position ensures the flow of product through the plant, assuring that equipment is functioning properly and completed work is properly documented. Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on production, packaging, material handling and mechanical equipment scheduled by a computerized maintenance management system. Work well in a TEAM environment. Ensure all work orders are done in a timely manner. Assist in all ongoing projects as needed. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Operates single and tandem axle tractors pulling up to 53 ft. trailers, straight trucks, lift trucks, tankers, and pallet jacks;
- Assists customers by unloading product, checking orders and providing outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
- Performs required before, during, and after operation user maintenance and reports;
- Maintains all required certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs;
- Makes customer deliveries per Transportation Plan orders;
- Reports any maintenance issues to Maintenance Supervisor to maintain safe operation, and compliance to DOT regulations.
- Maintains cleanliness of vehicles, work areas, and equipment.
- Completes and maintains paperwork and records work and PM tasks neatly and accurately. Turns in paperwork upon return to home location. Paperwork includes but is not limited to: Driver Logs, trip reports, expense reports, Proof of Deliveries and pickup slips;
- Keeps tractor and trailer registrations and inspections current;
- Complies with all safety procedures;
- Assists warehouse team members when directed.
- Maintains regular, predictable attendance;
- Maintain and repair production, packaging, and material handling equipment.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance on a weekly scheduled basis;
- Complete all work orders in a timely manner;
- Respond to production trouble calls. Repair equipment quickly and safely, test and return to production service;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- CDL class A license
- Tank endorsement
- 3-6 months tractor trailer driving experience
- Requires the ability to use basic shop mathematics; handbook formulas; to interpret simple blueprints or drawings, use a wide variety of tools or precision measuring instruments; may setup, re-tool, operate a somewhat complex machine;
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time or part-time position. Days and hours vary depending on the shift and department. Overtime and weekend work is required at times. Vacation coverage as needed. Rotating on call duties.
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2 years tractor trailer driving experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- One year of experience in an industrial maintenance environment or dairy industry.

Food Safety and Product Quality
This position is responsible for supporting the food safety management system and for communicating food safety issues to the Quality Department.
