Responsibilities
- Perform the monthly closing process, including preparing journal entries and reports.
- Evaluate and update inventory reserves to ensure accurate representation of assets.
- Analyze monthly plant cost center spend detail to identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the analysis of spare parts spending and related inventory levels.
- Compile plant production and labor statistics for informed decision-making.
- Provide cost-related information for new product and capital spend projects.
- Offer guidance on proper classification of spending, capital versus expense.
- Update Bill of Materials and Routings as necessary to maintain efficiency.
- Create and maintain Standard Costs for plant products.
- Complete annual unit standard cost updates, including development of direct labor, variable overhead, and tech structure rates.
- Collaborate with plant and warehouse personnel to identify cost-saving initiatives and areas for improvement.
- Support the plant manager in the preparation of labor, variable overhead, and tech structure budgets.
- Implement and improve internal controls to safeguard plant assets and accurately report results of operations.
