What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Controller position at SAVENCIA?
Objective
The Plant Controller position concentrates on financial management, asset control, plant accounting, and operational performance reporting for our manufacturing facility located in New Holland, PA.
Essential Functions
- Performs the monthly closing process which includes preparing journal entries and reports.
- Evaluates and updates inventory reserves.
- Analyzes monthly plant cost center spend detail.
- Analyzes spare parts spending and related inventory.
- Compiles plant production and labor stats.
- Provides cost related information for new product and capital spend projects.
- Provides guidance on proper classification of spending, capital versus expense.
- Updates Bill of Materials and Routings when necessary.
- Creates/maintains Standard Costs for plant products.
- Completes annual unit standard cost update including development of direct labor, variable overhead and tech structure rates.
- Works with plant and warehouse personnel to identify cost saving initiatives and areas for improvement.
- Supports plant manager in the preparation of labor, variable overhead and tech structure budgets.
- Implements and improves internal controls necessary to safeguard plant assets and accurately report results of operations.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel: Occasional travel between the plants.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with SAP.
- At least 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing standard cost and accounting systems.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Power BI.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication experience.
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel.
