Job Description – EHS Manager (South Florida)
SAVI EHS is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee multiple active construction projects throughout South Florida, with occasional travel to Central and North Florida. Project types include tenant fit-outs, hospitality buildings, and commercial office developments. This position plays a key role in supporting a large-scale general contractor, ensuring safety and environmental compliance across all job sites.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular, documented EHS audits and compliance assessments at multiple job sites
- Oversee and evaluate safety programs for both general and subcontractor workforces
- Lead and participate in Daily Hazard Analysis (DHA) reviews
- Deliver toolbox talks and conduct site-wide safety stand-downs as needed
- Ensure all contractors follow their approved site-specific safety plans
- Facilitate and deliver new hire safety orientations
- Implement and manage site-specific industrial hygiene monitoring and sampling
- Investigate all incidents, perform root cause analysis, and develop CAPAs (Corrective/Preventative Actions)
- Assist with injury and claims management, including modified duty and return-to-work plans
- Partner with client leadership to foster a culture of safety and injury-free job sites
- Collect and analyze safety data (leading/lagging indicators), identify trends, and implement action plans
- Conduct and facilitate OSHA and company-specific training for workers and site supervisors
- Ensure craft workers meet all job-specific safety qualifications and certifications
- Act as the main point of contact for client risk management and safety personnel
- Support positive reinforcement safety programs and culture-building initiatives
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in construction EHS, preferably in general contracting or large-scale commercial builds
- Experience managing safety across multiple, concurrent job sites
- Familiarity with hospitality, tenant improvement, and interior fit-out project safety requirements
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Working knowledge of EHS software and app-based reporting tools
- Technically proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Comfortable traveling throughout the state of Florida as needed
- Bilingual (Spanish) strongly desired
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field
- OSHA 30 required
- OSHA 510 and OSHA 500 strongly preferred
- CHST, CSP, ASP, STSC, or GSP preferred
