Internship Details
Savion is seeking a self-starting and highly motivated undergraduate or graduate student to fill an Operational Safety Summer Intern position starting in May 2025 and running to August 2025 with the possibility to extend the duration to December 2025. The candidate will complete a variety of tasks while being trained and mentored by our team of safety experts. This position is open to all qualified individuals who desire to work at Savion’s dynamic HSSE team in our Kansas City office.

Position Responsibilities
The candidate will report to the HSSE Director who is heavily involved in Savion’s HSSE strategy related to its portfolio of existing and proposed utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. The candidate will assist the safety team and other team members in executing their daily activities. This will provide the candidate the opportunity to interact daily with Savion’s numerous subject matter experts in Engineering/Procurement/Construction, environmental & permitting, etc. The ideal candidate will also provide ongoing safety support and learn the processes of project development from a safety perspective.
Responsibilities Will Include
Preferred: Hybrid: Kansas City, Missouri Headquarters with some flexibility for hybrid work

Responsibilities Will Include
- Assist in creating and updating HSSE specific documentation as it relates the HSSE MS
- Conduct HSSE Risk Assessments in support of EPC and Development activities
- Conduct HSSE field assurance on EPC project
- Attend and assist in coordinating project related calls and meetings with the project team
- Assist in the management of the “Savionites for Safety” HSSE committee, SharePoint and support of Savion HSSE plan, and Contractor HSSE evaluations,
- Assist with implementation of new HSSE Management system deployments and conduct Visible Savion Leadership training management and tracking
- Undergraduate or graduate student in pursuit of an occupation health and safety degree required, preferably with an emphasis in renewable energy.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must have good analytical, decision-making, communication, creative problem-solving, and human relations skills.
- Must be organized, self-motivated and capable of working both independently and in group settings.
- Leadership traits are key; must have the drive to learn how to successfully lead cross-functional and dynamic project teams in a matrix organization
