What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Manager position at SAVr Foods?
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for all food safety and quality assurance activity in the food processing facility. We are looking for a leader that is passionate about food quality and can continuously improve on our current quality systems. This position is responsible for developing guidance for food safety standards by implementing and enforcing food safety and security procedures for our facility through programs such as SQF, HACCP and cGMP’s. This position will require high level knowledge of supply chain quality programs, environmental monitoring programs, quality system auditing and implementation. This position will require flexibility in work hours to allow for monitoring of the production and sanitization shifts.
- Responsible for coordinating HACCP programs at the facility
- Manage SQF quality systems and prep for audits
- Verify efficacy of sanitation program and work with sanitation leaders to improve sanitation practices
- Preform all food safety validations on routine schedule
- Creates, trends and verifies environmental monitoring program
- Responsible for performing daily record reviews to ensure all quality and regulatory requirements are met
- Handling all quality and food safety production holds, reconciliation and product release
- Leading all 3rd party audits
- Leading root-cause analysis efforts and implementing corrective actions and preventative measures
- Completing special projects, duties and assignments as needed
- Training quality assurance technicians on proper procedures
- Maintain systems for checking, validating and verifying process compliance
- Maintain, update, develop and implement quality policies and procedures
- Monitor food safety and food quality trends through data analysis and implement appropriate corrective actions and preventative measures
- Ensure efficient and accurate testing, reporting and monitoring of product safety and product quality
- Coach production and sanitation teams on quality and safety leading practices
- Verify effectiveness of master cleaning schedule. Coordinate updates to procedures as required
- Manage product hold, disposition and non-conformance policies
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills-written, verbal and interpersonal
- Must be proficient with computer and appropriate software
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced technical degree in microbiology, chemistry or food science
- Must hold current HACCP and PCQI certifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in food quality assurance
- Strong leadership experience
- Sense of urgency and ownership regarding role and the needs of the department

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
