We are seeking a skilled Desktop Engineer with a strong background in system administration and expertise in office applications to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining desktop systems, ensuring smooth end-user operations, and supporting IT infrastructure. This role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Desktop Support:
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Provide technical support to end users for hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system errors, connectivity issues, and application malfunctions.
- System Administration:
- Administer and manage Windows and/or Linux systems, including user accounts, permissions, and file shares.
- Perform routine system updates, patches, and backups.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Office Applications Support:
- Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Assist with license management, updates, and integrations for office applications.
- Train users on advanced features and best practices for office applications.
- IT Infrastructure Support:
- Manage and maintain Active Directory, group policies, and network shares.
- Assist in the setup and configuration of network devices such as routers, switches, and printers.
- Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects and upgrades.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, incidents, and resolutions.
- Create and update technical documentation, including system configurations and user guides.
- Other Duties:
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
