Job Description:
We are seeking a DSP (Grounds Maintenance) to join our dedicated team to supervise, direct, and train individuals with developmental disabilities in an outdoor environment performing landscaping activities at a contracted site.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizing commercial lawn mowers and equipment to mow grass and maintain lawn areas.
- Safely applying pesticides and herbicides as needed to control pests and maintain plant health.
- Planting flowers and shrubs to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the facilities.
- Maintaining existing gardens and green spaces to ensure their vitality and beauty.
- Pulling weeds and applying mulch to promote plant health and discourage weed growth.
- Trimming bushes, hedges, and trees to maintain neat and orderly landscaping.
- Installing and repairing snow fencing during winter months to ensure safety and accessibility.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the agency’s insurance company.
- Ability to load and tow a trailer.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Obtain/maintain CPR/First Aid certification/DODD certification.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn basic computer skills.
