As a Veterinary Cardiology Nurse, you will play a crucial role in supporting our cardiology team by providing high-quality care to our patients with heart conditions. Your responsibilities will include assisting in diagnostic procedures, administering medications, monitoring patient progress, and educating pet owners on managing their pet's heart disease.
This is a full-time on-site role for a Veterinary Technician at Sawgrass Veterinary Cardiology located our main office in Boynton Beach, FL as well as our satellite offices in Jupiter, Wellington, and Fort Lauderdale.

As a Veterinary Cardiology Nurse, you will play a crucial role in supporting our cardiology team by providing high-quality care to our patients with heart conditions. Your responsibilities will include assisting in diagnostic procedures, administering medications, monitoring patient progress, and educating pet owners on managing their pet's heart disease.

Qualifications
- Assist veterinarians in performing cardiology-related diagnostic tests, including echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (ECGs), Holter monitor placement/removal, and blood pressure measurements.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients during their stay at the clinic.
- Educate pet owners on the management of their pet's heart condition, including medication administration, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient.
- Collaborate with other veterinary staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of cardiology equipment and supplies.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in veterinary cardiology.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification, are welcome, but not required.
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital, preferably with a focus on cardiology or internal medicine
- Animal Care and Pet Care skills
- Veterinary Technology knowledge
- Client Education skills
- Experience in Anesthesiology
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
