Regular Pay for this role starts at $20/hour, but you will also be paid $1/hour for on-call hours worked (see detail below)
It is anticipated this role will be scheduled to work day shifts alternating each week as follows:
Week A - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
Week B- Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
On days you are assigned to work your shift will generally be 5-8 hours (depending on daily work load).
On days worked you will also be required to be on call and carry your cell phone while not physically at the jail, from 8:00 am on the day you are scheduled to work through 8:00 am the following day. You will be compensated $1/h for any on-call hours. On rare occasions you may be required to physically return to the jail. In these situations you will be compensated a minimum of one hour of regular pay for each call back.
General Duties: The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing technical, clinical, and clerical support to the providers in the Cassia County Jail.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide care to patients under the direction of the provider
- Process prescription medication for refill and provide instruction per the provider's order
- Pass medications to inmates in the jail twice per day
- Assist in monitoring supplies, medical equipment, and prescriptions
- Schedule and document appointments, use an electronic medical record, answer/make occasional phone calls, request and scan medical records
- Assist the provider in performing clinic and organizing patient requests for medical and mental health care
- Triage patient complaints, institute care when appropriate, and discuss cases with the medical provider
- Some call is required, but generally is only by phone
- Schedule is three-four days per week and includes some weekends. This may include some holidays. Hours during the day are flexible
