This position will play an important role in helping students learn socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement. You will work with parents, teachers, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems. You will also conduct individual and family meetings to monitor progress. This position will also work closely with the Sawyer County Youth Justice Program in monitoring dual clients. To be considered, qualified candidates will need an associate's degree in social work or a closely related field or at least 2-years of experience working with at-risk youth. Sawyer County Position Description
Title: Mental Health Clinician
Department: Health and Human Services Department
Reports to: Behavioral Health Clinic Supervisor/CCS Service Director
Hours per week: 40 hours
Position Purpose
As a member of our experienced outpatient behavioral health team, the mental health clinician will provide client-centered therapeutic care options to enhance mental, emotional, and physical well-being. The clinician will offer a comprehensive array of mental health services, including individual and family outpatient counseling, while serving those overwhelmed with life circumstances and those suffering from severe mental health and/or substance use disorders. Provide therapeutic services through the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) Program initiative. As with all positions within the agency, it is the duty of the individual in this position to reflect the agency's mission, vision, and values, to work in a coordinated manner with other employees, and to demonstrate professional and personal confidence in the service delivery model and approaches taken by the organization, including integrating trauma-informed care while serving our communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Mental Health Clinician Duties:
- Screen applicants to determine appropriateness and eligibility for admission to the outpatient program.
- Provide intake and orientation, including completing all appropriate agency forms; documenting initial assessment; complete family, medical, social, and vocational histories; describe to the client the nature and goals of the program, rules, treatment costs, and client rights.
- Conduct assessments to identify and evaluate client strengths, weaknesses, concerns, and needs in developing the treatment plan.
- Complete written individualized treatment plans by establishing agreed-upon short- and long-term realistic goals and attainable objectives.
- Provide counseling to individuals, including children and families, to help them mobilize resources to resolve problems and/or modify problematic behaviors.
- Provide referral services by identifying client needs that cannot be met by the agency and assisting the client in utilizing available community resources.
- Responsible for maintaining client files and records, documenting assessment results and treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other client-related data.
- Consultation with other professionals about client treatment/services.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
A master’s degree in counseling, clinical social work, or related field with emphasis on mental health (MH) counseling. The applicant must possess licensure from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services to provide outpatient mental health counseling. Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) certification or obtaining said certification. Minimum 3 years of counseling experience in Wisconsin state-licensed mental health programs. Licensure through the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services as a SAC (Substance Abuse Counselor) or CSAC (Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor) is preferred. Familiarity with both mental health and substance use diagnoses as outlined in the DSM-V TR. Experience with providing wraparound services and engaging community agencies. Experience treating special and/or diverse populations, including children ages ten and above. Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License or ability to obtain as a condition of employment, use of a reliable insured vehicle, and proof of vehicle insurance.

Physical Requirements
Ability to operate various office equipment including computer, telephone, fax machine, calculator, and photocopier.
Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet, and limbs in movements requiring moderate skill, such as keyboarding. Ability to sustain prolonged visual concentration.
Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
Environmental Adaptability
Ability to work under safe and comfortable conditions where exposure to environmental factors such as repetitive computer keyboard use poses a minimal risk of injury.
