What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at Sawyer Eye Center?
Sawyer Eye Center is a general Ophthalmology practice with 3 Ophthalmologists and 2 Optometrists.
We have two locations: Weatherford and Granbury. This position is for an Ophthalmic Technician in our Granbury location, but it requires the ability to drive to our Weatherford location on occasion (travel is reimbursed). These locations are both easily accessible from Fort Worth! We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and proficient self-starter. At least 1 year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician is preferred. However, Optometric Technicians are welcome to apply as well. Pay is commensurate with experience and certifications such as a COA, COT, and/or a COMT. We will consider part-time or full-time. A full time position would be for 32 - 40 hours per week and qualifies for benefits. Please note that we are willing to perform on-the-job training for individuals that lack the experience for some of the below responsibilities.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* room and prepare patients for physician; do a full ophthalmic work-up
* record patient information in electronic medical record
* prepare exam rooms, keeping neat and clean
* administer topical ophthalmic medications
* operate ophthalmic equipment - such as phoropter, OCT, fundus camera, visual field analyzer, topographer, lensometer, etc.
* perform refractions; measure intraocular pressure (Goldman applanation, iCare, and Tonopen)
* explain treatment procedures, medications, or physician instructions to patients
* assist physician with in-office ophthalmic procedures
* maintain/ clean/ sterilize ophthalmic instruments or equipment; dispose of contaminated supplies
