Job Description
Sawyer Home & Garden Center is now seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals for our cashier positions! If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy providing excellent customer service - a seasonal position at SGC may be a great fit for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Cheerfully greeting & assisting customers with store information, details on products & services, and answering customer questions both in person & over the phone in a professional manner.
- Accurately process payments following SGC procedures, issue refunds, & handle customer accounts with care.
- Bagging, boxing, wrapping merchandise etc. Offering carry-out assistance to customers as needed.
- Collaborate with team members, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized & safe work environment.
- Cross-train in different departments to support our team as needed.
- Keep shelves stocked, products priced & displays looking clean & organized.
- Price products, ensuring quantities and prices are correct.
Requirements
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment indoors & outdoors.
- Prior retail sales/cash handling experience IS a plus!
- Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment - completing tasks that can be strenuous in nature - standing, lifting up to 40 lbs., bending, traversing uneven surfaces and pushing/pulling carts unassisted.
- Commitment to excellent customer service, showing up each day with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Available on weekends and holidays. Seasonal position, our hours of operation are 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

- Strong ability to multitask in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Maintain a sense of urgency while staying comfortable in a fast-paced setting involving many people while keeping up a team oriented personal attitude.
- Adaptable to changing tasks, willing to learn about new products.
