Position Purpose
A Production Associate L2 is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment while ensuring quality standards are met. This role requires adaptability, the ability to learn quickly, and the flexibility to work in both production and warehouse functions. The associate will primarily work on the production line, packaging and stacking products manually into boxes and onto pallets for shipment. Additionally, they will operate a forklift to wrap finished goods and retrieve raw materials as needed. When production is down, they may be assigned to warehouse tasks such as inventory management or unloading shipments in rare instances.
Primary responsibilities :
- Stack cases of product (10-30 lbs.) onto pallets according to specific customer requirements, ensuring proper alignment, stability, and weight distribution.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production guidelines as determined by the supervisor or production line lead.
- Assist in packing and inserting partitions into boxes as needed.
- Monitor the production line and remove any defective or damaged products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production and palletizing area, ensuring the workspace is free from debris.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate with the Manager or Supervisor regarding any issues, material shortages, or quality concerns.
- Properly pack and stack products manually onto pallets for shipment.
- Operate a forklift to wrap finished goods and transport raw materials.
- Assist in warehouse inventory management and organization when production is down.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or production work is helpful but not required.
- Forklift certification required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistency in repetitive tasks.
- Ability to memorize and accurately follow different pallet stacking patterns for multiple customers.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate product stacking and minimize shipping errors.
- Physical endurance and the ability to lift and stack 10-30 lb. cases continuously throughout the shift.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse/production environment.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with teammates and supervisors.
- Basic problem-solving skills to identify and address stacking or packaging issues.
- Dependability and a strong work ethic.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a warehouse and production environment with exposure to moderate noise, materials, and packaging equipment.
- Light to moderate lifting (typically up to 50 lbs.) is required.
- Frequent standing, bending, twisting, and reaching throughout the shift.
- Manual dexterity is needed for handling materials and assembling partitions. Must wear required PPE, including gloves, and safety glasses.
