Job Description : Network Engineer

Location : Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), Midtown and Upper East locations, New York City

Report To : Director of Network Engineering

Overview :

Join the IT team at HSS as a Network Engineer, directly reporting to the Director of Network Engineering. This role is integral to managing day-to-day network operations and supporting significant cloud migration projects. The position requires expertise in various network technologies and protocols, and a commitment to maintaining HSS's network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee network performance, including monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Configure and maintain Juniper Network equipment, ensuring proficiency in OSPF, EVPN, and BGP protocols.
• Utilize Infoblox IPAM for efficient DNS / DHCP / IP Address Management.
• Manage Aruba Wireless systems and assist with Palo Alto Firewalls, focusing on VPN certificate creation.
• Respond to network tickets and implement necessary escalations.
• Execute simple to intermediate network changes and participate in after-hours work as needed.
• Support HSS's ongoing cloud migration efforts.
Qualifications :
• Minimum :
• 7 years of experience with Juniper Networks (Layer 1-3).
• 4 years of experience with Infoblox IPAM and Aruba Wireless.
• Strong communication, writing, and documentation skills.
• Preferred :
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, Juniper).
• Experience in healthcare environments and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
