We are seeking a Cellarhand - Winery Operations professional to join our team at Saxum Vineyards.
About the Role
This is a temporary, seasonal position that will commence in September and conclude when harvest activities come to an end. As a member of our cellar team, you will be responsible for assisting with vinification tasks during the harvest season, including operating equipment, maintaining facilities, and ensuring adherence to safe cellar practices.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain winery equipment, including crushers, presses, and pumps
- Participate in daily cleaning and maintenance of cellar facilities
- Assist with fruit reception, sorting, and crushing/destemming
- Ensure adherence to safe cellar practices and maintain a clean and organized workspace
Requirements
- Previous experience in a cellar or winery environment (preferably during a harvest season)
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
- Comfortable working at heights and in wet conditions
- Good physical stamina and endurance
- Reliable and punctual attendance
