Job Description/Responsibilities

The Director of Sales, Walmart/Club Channel is a key leader of the National Account, Off-Premise team. The individual will lead strategic initiatives to build the success of Sazerac brands, including national brands and private/control label. They will be a thought leader to help their team drive distribution, programming, and execution across the 3-tier network. They will work to build strategic relationships with retailers, distributors, and Sazerac state and sales execution teams. 

 

Location: Northwest Arkansas

 

Key Responsibilities (job responsibilities may vary by state depending on regulatory and compliance standards for the state):

  • Deliver volume and revenue growth exceeding the annual plan by leveraging the full portfolio in terms of National Brands and Control Label.
  • Responsible for expanding Sazerac’s footprint within Walmart and Club channel for entire Sazerac spirits portfolio.
  • Drive commitment through every key stakeholder level to deliver against KPIs that support the Annual Operating plan and ladder back to the account strategy.
  • Identify opportunities that support long-term objectives and use solution-based selling to secure distribution and promotional activity.
  • Leverage the full portfolio in terms of National Brands and Control Label to find solutions for the consumer and retailer.
  • Work with the Trade Marketing and Brand Teams to secure incremental investments. 
  • Develop relationships so Sazerac is considered a consultant, driven by mutual success and growth. Execute Retailer Wiring both vertically and horizontally to deepen relationships.
  • Understand and support brand prioritization by state while building against strategy and National Brands.
  • Develop tools and processes that lead to insights and actions. Utilize sources that will include Retail Link, Nielsen, IRI, Numerator, iDig, COGNOS, and Excel.
  • Work with Brand, Trade, and Control Label Marketing to bring consumer and retailer-grounded brand solutions to life within Walmart and Sam’s Club. Clearly articulate timelines internally so we can host innovation summits in line with Walmart’s long planning cycles.
  • Secure, understand and utilize national and state level pricing standards and deviations for use with strategic account presentations and execution compliance.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of National Accounts experience in CPG or alcohol beverage industry National Account experience
  • Previous experience calling on Walmart 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights/weekends)
  • Willingness to travel
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Record of successful leadership
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Preferred:

  • MBA

Placement within the salary range is calculated upon years of directly relatable experience for the position. The Salary range refers to base salary only and does not include car allowance, annual bonus, fuel or cell phone reimbursement.
