Sazon, Inc. is an affiliate of GOYA Foods, Inc. specializing in the development, production, and marketing of seasoning and powdered bouillon products. We are seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to oversee safety and quality initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain GFSI food safety and quality systems.
- Lead food safety culture for the organization, including employee awareness and training programs.
- Audit manufacturing facility and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory regulations, GFSI auditing schemes, FSMA Preventive Controls, and HACCP.
- Perform routine testing of ingredients, packaging, and finished products, ensuring all standards for safety, quality, and consistency are met.
- Evaluate customer and consumer claims to determine root causes; provide corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with Purchasing Manager on supplier validation and monitoring programs.
- Partner with Production Supervisors on maintenance and calibration of testing equipment to monitor weights, codes, and labeling.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all food safety, compliance, and quality control initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Control, or a related field.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing and quality assurance.
- Proficient with GFSI, Food Safety Plans, and HACCP.
- Strong attention to detail, as well as organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Clean criminal background.
