Customer Service Representative II -Stony Brook Children’s Service, UFPC
Location: St. James, NY
Schedule: Full Time
Days/Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 M - F; 7:30 - 4:00 Sat
Job Duties & Essential Functions:
- Assist management with the daily operation of the call center. Must have ability to perform all jobs under his/her lead.
- Answer staff questions pertaining to insurances and research new insurances to identify if we participate.
- Works closely with office managers to troubleshoot issues with patient registration and scheduling.
- Monitors work assignment of duties to staff and works with managers to make required adjustments to optimize efficiency within the call center.
- Answers routine phone inquiries.
- Schedules patient appointments in computer system.
- Communicates with managers regarding staff absence or tardiness on Saturday.
- Maintains HEDIS spreadsheets and works closely with manager to ensure HEDIS calls and transmissions are current.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of full-time customer service experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Experience using EMR.
- Experience with appointment scheduling system.
- Associate’s degree. In lieu of degree, will accept 2-3 years
- Three years of supervisory experience, to include two years in a busy practice.
