Your Next Career Opportunity – Senior Accountant, Fixed Assets Under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, the Senior Accountant will have the responsibility of applying principles of accounting, including fixed assets accounting, to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries within the general ledger and the fixed assets sub-ledger.Analyze and process appropriate reclassifications of capital and operating expenditures.Complete the monthly process of recordation of fixed assets activity to the sub-ledger.Complete the monthly depreciation / amortization process and analyze results for changes or trends.Record fixed assets dispositions and decommissions in the general ledger and the sub-ledger.Review and process impairment calculations for tangible and intangible assets.Complete month-end close within the time frame established on the monthly checklist.Prepare fixed assets and intangibles roll forward.Prepare monthly USGAAP reconciliations of fixed asset accounts, corporate, REIT, and Tax to ensure accuracy.Prepare monthly IFRS reconciliations of fixed asset accounts, financial and statutory, to ensure accuracy.Assist with compilation, review, analysis, and publication of the financial statements.Assist with the preparation of schedules for quarterly and annual external audit reviews.Prepare quarterly and annual schedules for our internal Tax department.Assist in the development and implementation of streamlined accounting processes with an emphasis on process improvements.Interface effectively with our Tax, Financial Reporting, and International Local Accounting teams, as well as upper management, to address and resolve issues.Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.Assist with Sarbanes Oxley documentation and test requirements (including process walk-throughs for external and internal auditors).Ensure compliance with all SBA policies and procedures.Complete assigned internal training classes for personal development annually.Other projects and duties as assigned. What You’ll Need – Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Accounting; and 5 years of Accounting or Finance experience.Great Plains, Wennsoft Job Costing, Hyperion Financial Management, or comparable software experience preferred.Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in working with Excel, expert level (macros and pivot tables).Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in working with database software.Spanish Preferred Physical Demands : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
